This page says what Check Out My Game stores about you, why, and how to get it removed. It is short because we keep little.

What we store

Account. When you sign in we store the provider you used (Steam, Google, Discord or GitHub), the account ID that provider gives us, your display name, your avatar URL and profile link, and an email address if the provider shares one. We never see your password.

Activity. Your votes, comments, replies, submitted listings, claims and reports, with timestamps.

Session cookie. One cookie keeps you signed in. It holds a random session ID and nothing else. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

Server logs and rate limits. Your IP address is used to rate-limit sign-in, submissions, votes and comments, and appears in ordinary server logs that are rotated on a short schedule.

What we don't do

No ads, no trackers, no analytics scripts, no selling or sharing of personal data for marketing. The only email we send is the weekly digest: on by default for an address your sign-in provider confirmed, or one you confirmed yourself, with a one-click unsubscribe in every message. We never send anything else, and we never share the address.

Who else sees data

Sign-in providers see that you signed in here. Listing text and the public comments on a game (never your account details) are sent to an AI provider to tidy listings and to write the Select feedback summary. Public store pages are fetched to build unclaimed listings. The site runs on a server in the United States behind Cloudflare, which sees your requests as any CDN does.

Public by design

Your display name, avatar, votes, comments and submitted listings are public and may appear in feeds and search engines. Your email address is never shown.

Retention and deletion

We keep account data while the account exists, plus up to 14 days in encrypted backups. To delete your account and everything it posted, email [email protected] from the address on the account, or with your display name and provider. Removal from the live site is same day; backups age out within 14 days.

Changes

If this page changes materially, the date above changes with it.
